January Meeting

Thursday, January 12, 2012
11:00 a.m.
Community of Christ Temple, 1001 W. Walnut

Come and hear about how the idea of a community meal at Stone Church is growing into a community-wide effort to bring those on the margins of society to Christ's table. Presented by Terry Snapps and Eric Scott.

Also learn about the growing movement, "Mayors for Peace" from Jim and Sharon Hannah, community organizers.

After our program we will be helping with the Daily Prayer for Peace.*  Please allow a bit of extra time (til about 1:20) to stay as we offer prayers for a world that so desperately needs them.

Please RSVP for lunch to Betsy Bain at (816) 373-2600 ext 228 or at bbain@stmarksparish.com  Lunch is $5.

*The Daily Prayer for Peace worship service is held at 1:00 p.m. central time, 365 days a year at Community of Christ Temple, Independence, Missouri.

Executive Committee Update

December 8, 2011

Statement for the Executive Committee meeting of the Independence Ministerial Alliance.

Two points from the our Statement of Purpose:

To foster understanding and information about one another and our various faith traditions.

To offer an avenue for the faith community to speak to issues within the community when those issues need a faith perspective.

I ask that the minutes indicate that the Independence Ministerial Alliance acknowledges the recent public interest in interfaith dialogue prompted by the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast of 2011.  Further, we support and encourage healthy public discourse on all matters of faith in the City of Independence, MO.

Respectfully Submitted,
The Rev. Brian Morse
First Term Executive Committee Officer
